Workshop: Internal Business Partnering

Partner Host

Exploring benefits of Internal Business Partnering

In the current volatile and demanding business environment, Internal Business Partnering is increasingly on the agenda of purchasing teams eager to act as a strategic catalyst.

Being effective at business partnering allows purchasing teams to be at the heart of business decisions. They gain advanced understanding of their business partners’ needs, offer various solutions and assess their impact. They challenge their thinking and help their internal partners to take informed decisions. In a nutshell, they act as a co-pilot ensuring that the best external solutions are leveraged.

This requires the development of a shared vision and a culture of mutual trust. To achieve these, Purchasing needs to take the lead, gain recognition and establish new ways of working that lead to superior performance.

About the Workshop

The purpose of the workshop is to share practices on how to become more effective at business partnering.

Building on recent research undertaken at EIPM and on leading practices from winners of the EIPM Peter Kraljic Awards we shall collectively investigate:

  • Why is Internal Business Partnering important today?
  • How to progress step by step with Internal Business Partnering?
  • Do you need to create new roles to support it?
  • When can you use shared key performance indicators with the business?
  • What are the implications in terms of skills development, recruitment, talent management?
  • How leaders can best help to develop Internal Business Partnering?

Best practice presentations will be complemented by interactive sessions designed around the participants’ key challenges.
